December

December has been a busy month for our family. I can't remember what we did for the first 2 weeks. Some things I do remember, was getting my first mani/pedicure since Noah was born and having my first girls night having it done. What a blast Mandie and I had! We spent a lot of time doing fun wedding things for Corey, bridal shower and bachelorette party etc. My sister was here for a week and I hogged her the entire time. We got a cat from the Humane Society, and she is wonderful, Noah is adjusting to sharing Andy and I's affection and each day seems to get better and better. All the times Noah has cornered her or hit her (something we are trying to break) she hasn't scratched or hissed or done anything to him (I am very thankful).

Catch up

I am finally caught up for the month of October and November. I have been taking pictures and not taking them off the camera. So from Halloween to now is ready for viewing. Just skip over "WBE" post if you have already read it. There is more after it. Enjoy!

Rody

Noah got an early Christmas present from my parents this year. This is his inflatable pony. He likes playing with Rody as long as he has someone sitting near him. He got "bucked off" when Rody tipped over so is pretty cautious when he plays with him.

First Snow

It snowed today, so Noah and I went out into it for a few minutes to take some pictures. It was too cold for me, but he LOVED it! His little face was pink from being cold, but he still threw a fit when I carried him in to the house.

18 month WBE

Yesterday, Noah and I went to Pullman for his well baby exam. Everything was great; he is growing like he should be, his head is still in the 95 percentile (which is a bit of a dilemma when shopping), and he is doing most tasks that normal 18 month old kids do. The only reason that I am posting anything is because something wild happened toward the end of the appointment. The nurse was giving Noah his vaccinations, then he decided between the screaming and crying that he was done feeling pain, so he pulled the needle out of his leg and threw it on the ground. Fortunately he got all the vaccine in his leg before this happened. And the poor nurse was freaking out because there was a used, uncapped needle flying around the exam room. Needless to say I learned my lesson, so for the second shot, I held his hands down. Note to parents: Hold down your child's arms for vaccinations even if they aren't old enough to pull the needle out of their own legs.

I snuck into Noah's room while he was sleeping and took this picture. He is pretty innocent and sweet looking, which is very rare during the day.

Halloween

We didn't celebrate Halloween this year, because I didn't want to figure out Halloween costumes and I had to work the next morning at 6am. So instead we just went to the U of I Homecoming parade, and the Fire Department Safety Fair and Pancake feed. Here are some pictures from the parade. Noah and I were with Mandie, Ryan, and Sarah, while Andy drove Ladder Truck 28 through the parade.This is after the parade, once we are back to the firestation.After the parade, some of the firefighters do a car cutting demo. Noah sat down with all the "big kids" for about 1 minute to watch before it got too boring for him.

After we went home, Noah had his nap, and we listened to the football game. Later that night, my mom came over to play with Noah so Andy and I could go out to dinner. It was a fun day, but probably not a typical Halloween. Next year I won't be able to make excuses about participating in trick-or-treating or dressing up, because Noah will be old enough to go out and understand.

18 Months Old

Noah got his first haircut today. He did really well, he mostly just sat, until the end then he started squirming and and getting frustrated, because he couldn't get down, and the cape was too big. Here is Noah, with his fake smile before his haircut. During the haircut.

Up to this point, Michelle saved all of Noah's hair, so I have a nice momento of Noah's baby hair to cherish forever.

Noah wasn't afraid of the clippers, but he wasn't terribly crazy about them. I think they tickled or something.

And the after. Getting his hair cut didn't change how he looked very much, like some people believed it would. He just doesn't look like a ragg muffin anymore.

Toddler Bed

Noah has been trying to climb out of his bed in the mornings, then gets his leg stuck between the bed slats and has to wait to be rescued. I decided after this happened 3 times we were done. So now he has graduated to his toddler bed. His quilt is one of mine that my Aunt Pam made me when I was a little girl. I just had to fold it in half and it fits perfects on his little bed.

We survived Noah's first night in his toddler bed. He only got out of bed once, and I think he fell out, because when I walked into his room he was crying and wandering around like a zombie. Hopefully we have more good nights to come as Noah adjusts to his new bed.

Bath time!

I have recently been noticing how Noah is turning into a "little boy" a lot faster than I realized he would. All the baby in him is gone; his legs are getting longer, he is starting to stretch out, and all his baby fat is gone. A friend from work told me how much he has changed into a little boy, since the last time she saw him. It made me sad, but made me realize that we will be able to have new adventures as he grows up, and I will just have to cherish the baby that I once had, and always look back on the hundreds of pictures of him I have taken that lead up to now. This was Noah almost a year ago in the tub.

I have been talking about getting Noah's haircut, since he has never had a haircut, just around the ears and at the nape of his neck. And my mom told me,"don't get his haircut, just let him be a baby for a little bit longer." And I will probably wait for a little bit longer.

Musician in the Making

Noah found this straw in a very big water bottle and figured out how to "play" it. He has been wondering around the house with the straw ever since he discovered its musical properties. It has been fun to watch, and of course these videos aren't as good as the real thing, but you get the idea.

Chopping Wood at Grandma Doris'

Today we went up to Post Falls to Mandie and Corey's Grandmas house to chop wood so she will stay warm for the winter. I had Noah duty so I didn't get to partake in the wood chopping fun, but I did take a lot of pictures.The girls!

Andy was building a fire in the garbage can, and having a bit of difficulty. Noah took it upon himself to bring Andy wood to help start the fire. Needless to say, Noah kept bringing wood and Andy just threw it back on the ground when Noah wasn't looking. Eventually the fire got started and we roasted hot dogs over it. Yum!

Thank goodness for my jogging stroller, Noah had a pretty good nap in it, before getting back to work.

A lot of work got accomlished at Grandma Doris' house, and we had a lot of fun doing it. Next year we need to plan a weekend that isn't sooo cold. I think we were all icecubes when we were done.

Big Red Wagon

For my mom and dad's new house, Noah got a brand new Radio Flyer ATWagon. These were pictures we took right after Andy put it together. Noah loves riding along in his new wagon.He stands in it when he is ready to get out. Not safe at all! Another thing we will need to work on.
